Educational goals

The aim of the professional study program Finance and Financial Technology is to prepare graduates for their work in practice at business entities and in financial institutions in lower and middle management positions, with the ability to make independent decisions and apply a systematic and creative approach to problem solving. In addition to acquiring field-specific knowledge and skills in finance, controlling, business economics, accounting, taxes, financial markets, investing and financial technology, the aim is to acquaint students with the general basics of economics, law, management and human resource management. The aim of the study is to acquire and be able to apply basic knowledge in the field of computer and communication systems and programming, gain skills in analysis and data processing and application of financial technologies in business management or financial institutions, as well as actively use English language skills in professional communication.

The bachelor's degree program Finance and Financial Technology is followed by the master's degree programs Finance and Business Administration and Entrepreneurship.

Admission requirements

The condition for admission is the successful completion of the entrance exam. The entrance exam is in written form. The applicant will deliver a written essay in English on a selected topic through an electronic application and within the deadline published in the conditions for the admission procedure. The scope of the essay is set at 2,500 - 3,000 words. The essay is evaluated by members of the admissions committee.

Graduate profile

The professional study program Finance and Financial Technology equips the graduate with a set of basic knowledge in the field of business activities and processes, financial, investment, legislative, tax and accounting issues, methods, tools and technologies applied in financial management of companies and financial institutions, including investing in financial markets. The graduate is able to use basic knowledge of computer and communication systems, algorithms and data structures, data analysis and processing and principles of artificial intelligence for the application of financial technologies in the management processes of business entities and financial institutions. The graduate is capable of independent decision-making, creative thinking and dealing with people. They will be employed in lower and middle management positions within financial, controlling and accounting departments or information technology departments in business entities or financial institutions. He can work as a manager, analyst or consultant in organizations offering financial services, or as a project manager for the application of financial technologies. The graduate is also prepared to study in master's degree programs focused on finance, investment, taxes, accounting and financial technology.

Expected career prospects

The graduate will be competent for practical application in lower and middle managerial and economic functions within financial, controlling and accounting departments, or information technology departments in business entities or financial institutions. He can work as a manager, analyst or consultant in organizations offering financial services, or as a project manager for the application of financial technologies. The graduate will be ready to establish and develop their own business entity. The graduate will also be prepared to study in master's degree programs focused on finance, investment, taxes, accounting and financial technology.

Compulsory Courses

In order to be able to continue his/her studies in the third year of the Bachelor's Programme (hereinafter referred to as "BP"), at least 85% of the credits from the compulsory courses for the first and second year of study must be obtained following the current curricula for the respective degree programmes. The amount of credits required for moving to the third year of the BP is rounded down to whole credits and is published in the Dean's Decision for the relevant academic year.
